Mind yer bags...

Was getting off the plane in Dublin on Saturday and watched the dude who unloads the bags take no care whatsoever with them. When I saw him just drop the first few bags from chest level onto the van yoke I thought I would record what he was doing. I know these lads really couldn't care less about our stuff but still...

em, I don't see anything unusual or particularly nasty there. I would stay that is the same as, or a better standard of treatment than your bags get in most airports.

I travel a lot and you really need to worry when you see bags getting dragged along the tarmac beneath the wheels of the baggage trolleys as I have seen in Italy and the UK.

That's actually mild from those guys - I've seen them throwing bags over 6ft before!

Jeebas, it's pissing rain and he's giving those bags a good doing over. Nothing wrong with this man's job.

I worked as a bag chucker for a time and we generally took good care of the bags.

Except for golf clubs...we hated the bloody things and would often slap them with tugs @ 30mph to see how far we could launch them.

The thing is when I first watched him he was hammering the bags around on the trolley and then he realised that everyone on that side of the plane was watching him..then he got less violent.

He kept looking up every so often to see if people were still watching.

See the thing is, I still think what he is doing is wrong regardless of what happens at other airports. They are paid to do a job and not to cause breakages to peoples luggage. He is not taking care of bags and yet these gobsheens hold the country to ransom when they want more pay..and for what? Feck all really. If everyone took as little care in their jobs this country would be in a worse state that it is in. Just because this is the way things are done doesnt mean we have to accept it..does it?
